What to expect

If you have never visited a place before, you will often want to find out something about it before you go. This page gives you some more information about our meetings and community.

Types of meeting

Our speaking programme is carefully balanced to appeal to all ages, interests and backgrounds. Our evening talks are divided into four categories:

First principles
We take a look at a basic topic such as "Life after death". A Christadelphian investigates the subject and prepares a short talk. Both local Christadelphians and visitors are then invited to come along and listen.
Seminar
These workshop sessions are prepared by a speaker in advance and involve the listeners studying a specific topic in small groups. These studies are prepared by a Christadelphian and short worksheets are often used to guide the groups.
Family service
Family services are designed to appeal more to younger members of the audience, with more interaction and illustrations than regular talks. Subjects under consideration include Biblical characters, events and concepts, arriving at practical conclusions for use in daily life.
Bible class
For more in-depth studies of God's Word we hold Bible Classes. These classes cover a wide variety of detailed Bible topics. They assume considerable background knowledge, making them more suitable for people already well familiar with their Bibles.

The memorial service

Each Sunday morning we meet together to share bread and wine as Jesus commanded. This is often sometimes known as communion, or the memorial service. Only baptised Christadelphians share in this meal of remembrance. Those who do not share Bible beliefs as understood by the Christadelphians (and are also baptised) are not permitted to share in the bread and wine. However, we encourage you to come and watch and listen.
